There will be a new programme to support Year 6 pupils during the Easter Holidays. The aim of this programme is to provide the opportunity for pupils to develop their literacy and numeracy skills, in line with the new LNF.
The programme will run for the two weeks of the Easter break at Whitchurch High School (Lower School), from 8 am until 4pm.
During this period, pupils will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of projects, all with a literacy and numeracy focus. Throughout the day, the pupils will also work in small groups with fully qualified and experienced teachers to develop their literacy and numeracy skills in preparation for the national tests in May.
This programme will benefit the pupils, but also the parents who need to make arrangements for childcare during school holidays. Pupils can participate in the programme for a daily fee and can choose to attend only on specific days or for the whole period of the Easter break. Half-day sessions are also available.
At the moment, we only have 50 places available on the programme, so we will have to allocate these on a first come, first served basis.
