Welcome to Year 2
Welcome to a brand new year in year 2!
In the Foundation Phase we use an established system which ensures our pupils get a say in their learning. Each week we will read and explore a new story that is linked to our topic. A weekly pupil voice session allows the children to suggest activities for our enhanced provision areas (igloo). The teachers listen to their ideas and set them up ready for the following Monday. This way our children get a say in what they are interested in learning about!
We are kicking off the Spring term with our third topic:
Kings and Queens
Here are some of the stories we will be reading this half term:
The Paperbag Princess
King March's Ears
Prince Henry
St George and the Dragon
We will be exploring themes such as bravery, being a caring global citizen and being a super learner.
Check out our twitter page for photos of our learning and our own igloo activities in action!
